R v Tabassum [2000] 2 Cr. App. R. 328
Tabassum appealed against his conviction for indecent assault (3 counts), which was dismissed. Tabassum had deceived three women into thinking he had a medical qualification in order that he might demonstrate how to carry out breast self-examination. Tabassum contended that he had no sexual motive and that the judge's decision had been wrongly based on his lack of medical expertise. Consent was ruled not to have been given, as it was only agreed as the women believed his qualification.
